Non-Mechanical Weeds Management
Lena Syrovy is a Research Assistant in the Agronomy and Weed Ecology program at the University of Saskatchewan. She has been working in organic crop production for 15 years, in a variety of roles ranging from WWOOF volunteer to integrated pest management consultant, community garden horticulturalist to weed scientist. She has split her life among Manitoba, BC, and Saskatchewan, completing her bachelor’s degree in Global Resource Systems at the University of British Columbia, and her master’s degree in Agronomy and Weed Ecology at the University of Saskatchewan. Lena strives towards a future where farms are more ecologically functional, resilient, and produce no waste.
