Presenter Bio

Colin farms about 1200 certified organic acres with his family near Henribourg, SK. The cropsColin farms about 1200 certified organic acres with his family near Henribourg, SK. The cropson the farm typically include yellow flax, oats, hard red spring wheat (Red Fife, if the seasonstarts early enough), 40-10 forage peas (or lentils on light land), hemp, alfalfa, and diversecover crop mixes. Colin is a mentor in the Farmers for Climate Solutions’ cover crop mentorshipprogram, and a board member with Sask Organics. When he isn’t traveling for his job as International Sales Manager for Honey Bee Manufacturing Ltd., he tries to fit in a lot of skiing, mountain biking, camping at the lake and hockey practices with his wife and two young children. At the same time he dreams of finding ways to make the farm more regenerative, including integrating livestock. A BA in Geography & Political Science from McGill University clearly explains his long career in the agricultural equipment manufacturing business. He is a lifelong learner who usually has at least three books on the go and wonders where he can fit in a master’s degree to explore some of the more practical applications of Geographic Information Science in organic agriculture.
